Blue and Gold Proclamation
The proclamation below was passed by the Student Senate and encourages all students, faculty, and staff to wear their blue and gold on Fridays!
BLUE & GOLD PROCLAMATION
ITEM AU31-03
WHEREAS, The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga has been educating Tennesseans since 1886;
WHEREAS, Chattanoogans have been supporting UTC Athletics since the early 1890’s;
WHEREAS, UTC’s colors have been blue and gold since our union with Grant University in 1899;
WHEREAS, the Mocs have been practicing vigorously to perform magnificently this season;
WHEREAS, On Thursday August 30, 2007, Ron Littlefield, Mayor of the City of Chattanooga, and Claude Ramsey, Mayor of Hamilton County, proclaimed the day “BLUE AND GOLD DAY” for the city of Chattanooga.
WHEREAS, Friday September 3, 2010 is the day before the Mocs Football Program’s opening game against Application State University;
BE IT RESOLVED, THEREFORE, We, the Student Government Association of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga do hereby proclaim Friday September 3, 2010 and every following Friday during the school year,
“BLUE AND GOLD DAY”
On our campus and urge the students and citizens of Chattanooga to continue to support and recognize the contributions of The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to our community.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the campus administration and student body are informed of this act and a formal copy be maintained by the 192nd Senate of the Student Government Association.
